In a recent Instagram post, Brooks shared a picture of himself performing in front of a Huge crowd of cheering fans in Las Vegas. He appeared to break his silence on the sexual assault lawsuit with the caption:

“If there was ever a night where I Really I needed this, TONIGHT was that night! Thank you for my life!!!!! All the best, g.”

According to him, the show was a welcome distraction for Brooks following damning claims from a former employee. Even though he disabled the comments, fans supported him by flooding the post with thousands of likes.

Meanwhile, others on social media platforms like X spoke out, expressing mixed reactions to the news. Some supported Brooks while others doubted his innocence.

Inside the sexual assault allegations

The Blast recently reported that Brooks’ former employee filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him in a California court. The accuser, identified as Jane Doe, claimed she began working as a hair and makeup stylist for the singer in 2017.

However, their relationship changed in 2019 with a series of sexual assaults, including rape. She claimed that Brooks had just booked them a room at a hotel in Los Angeles during a business trip, where he appeared before her without any clothes on.

The allegations continued with the alleged victim claiming that Brooks repeatedly exposed his buttocks and genitals during their time together. He also talked about sex and shared sexual fantasies with her, including sending sexually explicit text messages.

The “Callin’ Baton Rouge” singer filed a complaint

Brooks did not accept the allegations and filed a complaint against his accuser. He claimed the woman’s lawyer sent him a “confidential” warning letter alleging sexual misconduct after he rejected her request for “employment and medical care.”

Through his legal representative, the singer dismissed his accuser’s claims as false, emphasizing: “The defendant, however, is aware of the significant, irreparable damage that such false allegations would inflict on the plaintiff’s well-deserved reputation as a decent and caring human being.”

“Along with the inevitable harm to his family and the irreparable harm to his career and livelihood that would result if she followed through on her threat to ‘publicly file,'” the complaint continues, implying stated that the former employee tried to blackmail Brooks.

The alleged victim, through her legal representatives, responded to Brooks’ complaint and expressed her willingness to fight for justice. Her team included attorneys Douglas H. Wigdor, Jeanne M. Christensen and Hayley Baker.

The lawyers criticized the singer in a statement, noting that he tried to silence her and sabotage the case by filing a preemptive lawsuit in Mississippi. They claimed his actions showed desperation and intimidation.

“We applaud our client’s courage in moving forward with her claims against Garth Brooks. The lawsuit filed today shows that sexual predators exist not only in corporate America, Hollywood, and the rap and rock ‘n’ roll industries, but also in the world of country music,” their statement said .
