ESPN College GameDay announces Indiana-Washington Week 9 site in Bloomington

ESPN’s College game day This will be my first time ever traveling to Bloomington Indiana host Washington in Week 9 of the regular season.

Lee Corso, who has returned to the Matchday which was set last weekend, will be heading home for the first time. Corso coached at Indiana from 1973 to 1982 and had a 41-68-2 record as head coach.

Corso’s tenure included a No. 19 finish in the final AP poll in 1979 and a Holiday Bowl victory.

Indiana is in the midst of a breakout season under the first-year coach Curt Cignetti. As James Madison’s successor, Cignetti brought a kind of magic to the Hoosiers.

Indiana is currently 7-0 after a 56-7 win Nebraska Saturday. Even before Indiana’s win, Cignetti explained why he had so much confidence in his program, even though it was his first year.

“I had a lot of confidence because I had so much success as a head coach, I guess,” Curt Cignetti said Andy Staples And Ari Wasserman To Andy & Ari On3. “And I felt like I had made this kind of turnaround two or three times before. So it’s just a matter of doing it on a bigger stage. And I thought it was important that I set an expectation when I arrived here. I realize I tested myself on a few comments, but the first day I was here I felt a certain sense of hopelessness that it wasn’t possible here.

“Once I was here, I felt like I had to inspire people from the start. Well, those are just words, but they show the confidence and expectation that we will do that.”

It’s safe to say Indiana is living up to Cignetti’s expectations. The Hoosiers were 6-0 for the first time since 1967, now 7-0. To put this into perspective: Bob Knight was still four years away from taking over the basketball program, and The Beatles had just published Sergeant. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
