Bronny James: LeBron’s son scores his first NBA points in Los Angeles Lakers defeat

Bronny James scored his first NBA basket for the Los Angeles Lakers in a 134-110 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Evan Mobley scored 25 points and Donovan Mitchell added 24 as the Cavaliers rattled off five straight wins, recording their best start to a season since 2016-17.

LeBron James, 39, who previously played in Cleveland twice, and his son Bronny, 20, made history last week by becoming the first father-son duo to share the court in an NBA game in the Lakers’ season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“To see him get his first NBA basket in this arena where he grew up not far from here – it’s an incredible moment,” said LeBron.

Bronny came off the bench against the Cavaliers with just over five minutes left and scored his first NBA points with a 14-foot leap over Tristan Thompson.

He missed a three-point attempt with less than a minute to play while his father scored 26 points, six rebounds and six turnovers.

Meanwhile, Pascal Siakam hit a game-winning three-pointer with 7.3 seconds left in overtime to help the Indiana Pacers beat the Boston Celtics 135-132 in Indianapolis.

Jaylen Brown missed a three-point attempt to tie the game on the defending champions’ final possession, resulting in their first loss of the season.

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 44 points as the New York Knicks defeated the Miami Heat 116-107, while the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs 105-93.
